🔌 Keragon Connector

Overview

The PhenoML Keragon connector enables you to extract medical codes directly from within the Keragon platform. This integration allows you to leverage PhenoML's construe API for powerful code extraction capabilities for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code systems through Keragon's intuitive interface.

Prerequisites

Before you can use the PhenoML Keragon connector, you'll need to complete the following steps:

1. Create a PhenoML Account

Sign up for a PhenoML account to get started. You can create your account at phenoml.com/pricing. For PHI usage you'll need to be on the starter or core plan.

2. Sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)

Important: If you plan to use the connector with Protected Health Information (PHI), you must have a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) signed with PhenoML. This is required for HIPAA compliance when handling PHI.

Contact PhenoML support to initiate the BAA process if you haven't already done so. [email protected].

3. Get Your Credentials

Once your account is set up and your BAA is in place (if using PHI), you'll need to obtain the following credentials. If you are on hobby to initial testing and dev you'll be able to get your credentials by logging into these developer docs. If you are on starter or core your credentials will have been directly shared with you:

• Subdomain: Your PhenoML subdomain (e.g., if your PhenoML URL is https://acme.app.pheno.ml, your subdomain is acme)
• Username: Your PhenoML instance username
• Password: Your PhenoML instance password

Setting Up the Connector in Keragon

The Keragon platform provides a user-friendly GUI for configuring the PhenoML connector:

1. Navigate to Connectors in your Keragon workspace
2. Select the PhenoML connector from the available connectors
3. Configure the connection by entering:
   • Subdomain: Enter only your subdomain (e.g., acme), not the full URL
   • Username: Your PhenoML account username
   • Password: Your PhenoML account password
4. Save the configuration to activate the connector

The connector will automatically construct your base URL using the format: https://{subdomain}.app.pheno.ml

Supported Code Systems

The PhenoML Keragon connector currently supports extraction for the following medical code systems:

• ICD-10-CM: International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification
• ICD-10-PCS: International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Procedure Coding System

Using the Connector

Once configured, you can use the PhenoML connector within Keragon workflows to extract medical codes from unstructured text. The connector leverages PhenoML's Construe API, which uses Med RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology to accurately identify and extract medical codes from clinical documentation. PhenoML Construe also supports other coding systems (e.g. RxNorm, SNOMED, LOINC, CPT, HPO) which can be added for use with the Keragon connector on request.
